The neighborhood of Barnum became part of the city of Denver, Colorado in September of 1896 and is named for P.T. Barnum of the Barnum and Bailey circus. P.T. Barnum originally purchased 760 acres of Denver land as a winter retreat for his circus. It is this land upon which Barnum real estate now lies.
